Darren is an artist and writer based in Kilkenny. His work draws from the archetype as character model; found in such things as psychology, mythology, the tarot and one's own imagination -- it may as simply be called suggestion.
For this exhibition he explores the medium of painting as a site of content, looking at the imaginative possibility which precedes auto-genererated, so called 'slop'.

There is a monster under the bed and there is a ghost in the machine. And we are host to each.

With fast drying, durable acrylic paints on canvas, the artist works this inherently dark medium as he looks for how to image the worlds we enhabit. Accident and intent provide clues but this is only half the story.
